About Bristol History:

The BRISTOL HISTORY has been up and running for nine years. It was the first to be dedicated to the overall history of the city and preceded by the FB FANS OF BUNTINGS DRUG STORE, who's administrator died a short time later. In 2008 we felt there was interest in a broader dedicated to the Twin-Cities and BRISTOL HISTORY was begun. Founding administrator Gary Rose retired from the but BRISTOL HISTORY continues with current administrators Tim Buchanan, Jessie Manuel and Fred South. The is associated with the Bristol Historical Association, with whom I am the 2017 president. The will continue in a similar form but with new material, special columns and reports on historical projects and events throughout our city. If it's happening we'll make an effort to let you know about it. A PAGE is open to the general public and we welcome you to take a peek, post photographs and stories, ask questions and let others know what is going on in the city. Tim BuchananIt is my desire that this site may be used as an open classroom to learn, debate, share, and enjoy the stories about the people and events that have made Bristol a "Good Place to Live"

I enjoyed visiting the 40th Anniversary reception at The Archives of Appalachia at the Sherrod Library at ETSU. A bonus was to meet the staff and go behind the scenes and see some of the extensive archive collection. This is a hidden jewel in the Tri-Cities! Tim Buchanan
